Cuscal buys and produces an array of products and services. These services are bought or operated on behalf of customers representing more than 30 billion dollars of assets in total. Clear, demonstrable advantage on the cost and quality of operation is available to all through this system of aggregation.

Access

Access to the Australian capital markets, payment systems, card schemes and inter-institutional settlement arrangements is Cuscal’s core offering to its customers.

Cuscal is a member of the Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA) and is represented on its Board of Directors and each of the four clearing stream Management Committees. Through this membership, we represent and act as a processor and agent for all of our customers for cheque, direct entry, electronic funds transfer (ATM and EFTPOS) and high value transaction processing.

Cuscal provides a low cost of entry for customers to card schemes through our principal membership of Visa International and our strategic alliance with Citigroup for the provision of a MasterCard credit card.

Access to these payment mechanisms and card schemes is further enhanced through our bilateral agreements with all of the financial institutions operating in Australia. Contracting for services with Cuscal provides customers with access to the infrastructure of all four major banks, regional banks, foreign banks and building societies. Cuscal’s access systems are supported by robust, resilient and fault tolerant technologies and settlement services.
